A generous donation from Frank & Sally Widerstrom of Cedarwood Construction allowed us to honor many of our Treatment Fund recipients at the
Day of Caring event. The Day of Caring is a unique and special event focused primarily on
breast cancer survivors and their support persons. The day featured seminars and workshops
to provide resources and information to assist in their healing, a luncheon and survivor
fashion show, as well as up-lifting stories and examples of courage and strength.
The day was especially gratifying because we were able to meet our
patients face-to-face and enjoy their beautiful spirits. Meeting them and sharing their
experiences in a casual setting certainly put our mission into perspective. Other Mickaela
Foundation guests included their support persons as well as some young volunteers who have been outstandingly supportive over the past several years. We felt that offering the volunteers the chance to interact with the people they
have helped could grow to become a very powerful thing.
